HISTORY

Formed out of clay by her mother, Queen Hippolyta, Diana of Themyscira was given life and great powers by the Olympian gods. Following tradition on the Amazon island, Diana was raised as a warrior, but she always had a desire to explore peaceful options to resolve conflicts. As Wonder Woman, Diana is an ambassador from the island of Themyscira to Patriarch's World, teaching a message of peace and equality by her own example.

Wonder Woman became a close friend to Katar Hol and Shayera Thal during the "War of the Gods" when Diana was attempting to contact one of the ancient Greek gods after he was seen racing the Flash in Central City. By order of the President of the United States, the Hawks were given sanction to use extreme force in bringing Wonder Woman down (as it was believed she was one of many responsible for the many god-like apparritions being seen across the planet). But instead of bringing her in, they ended up teaming up with her in an attempt to figure out what was going on. Diana even disguised herself as Hawkwoman, wearing an extra uniform.
