Born in an alternate future, a future no longer likely to come to pass, Sarko was the son of Lanterns Soranik Natu of Korugar and Kyle Rayner of Earth. Though his father would tell him of the deeds of the Green Lantern Corps, Sarko took a different path. He believed the Green Lanterns had failed to bring order to the universe, a belief represented by his grandfather, Sinestro.
In Sarko's future, the Sinestro Corps was long gone, having been absorbed into the Green Lantern Corps. Sarko sought to change that by going back into history to disrupt the unification.
